Jared Chance is charged with mutilation of a dead body and concealing the death of an individual. So far, he has not been charged with murder.
Police say Chance mutilated the unidentified woman's body on Friday at the home on Franklin Street near Dolbee Avenue. Two days later, Chance's downstairs neighbor and the neighbor's girlfriend started smelling a foul odor.
This led to the discovery of a tarp leaking blood. DNA testing identified the body as the missing Kalamazoo woman, Ashley Young
