PORT HURON, Mich. (WOOD) — U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents at the Blue Water Bridge in Port Huron seized over 80 pounds of marijuana over the weekend.

The seizures started Dec. 6 after officers sent vehicles containing bulk mail shipments labeled as books for a secondary inspection. A K-9 unit alerted officers to the presence of drugs, leading to multiple searches that uncovered more than 80 pounds of marijuana.

The seized marijuana will be destroyed at a later date.

All of the drivers were Canadian citizens, who were released along with their vehicles.
