SPARTA TOWNSHIP, Mich. WOOD) — A woman is facing child abuse charges after her 3-month-old displayed signs of shaken baby syndrome.
Sheriff’s deputies were called to Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids on Thursday on a report of the injured baby, according to a release from the Kent County Sheriff’s Department. While the baby had serious injuries, they were not considered to be life-threatening.
The alleged abuse happened in the 1400 block of Glen Park Dr. NW in Sparta Township, sheriff’s authorities said.
