S. Division Avenue arson suspect charged

GAINES TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — The suspect in several arsons along S. Division Avenue in Kent County was charged with several counts of arson.

Daniel Doyle was arraigned in 63rd District Court Tuesday, Oct. 30 on three counts of fourth-degree arson and two counts of third-degree arson. He is scheduled to be back in court on Nov. 13.

The Kent County Sheriff’s Office said the fires happened at separate locations on S. Division Avenue between 68th and 76th streets on the border of Gaines and Byron Township Friday, Oct. 26.

A boat, camper and model modular home were damaged as well as a pickup truck and sedan were destroyed in the arsons.

The motive for the arsons is unclear.
