Saturday's Drug Take Back Day: Where to go

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Saturday marks National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, when dozens of cities and police stations will be accepting people’s unused prescriptions to ensure they don’t end up in the wrong hands or contaminate the environment.

All 30 Michigan State Police posts statewide along with community will be accepting expired, unused and unwanted pills and patches between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday. The service is free and anonymous, with no questions asked. No liquids or needles will be accepted.

Sheriff’s offices, police departments, cities and pharmacies across Michigan will also offer free disposal service, including the following West Michigan locations:

  • Grand Rapids Police Department
  • East Grand Rapids Public Safety
  • Wyoming Police Department
  • Metro Health Hospital
  • Metro Health Park East Pharmacy
  • Kentwood Police Department
  • Lowell Police Department
  • Rockford Department of Public Safety
  • Zeeland Police Department
  • Gun Lake Tribe Public Safety Department
  • Hometown Pharmacy, Newaygo
  • Grant Fire Department
  • Holland Department of Public Safety
