KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — A Kalamazoo man charged with murdering his girlfriend is facing additional charges after escaping from the Kalamazoo County Jail.
The Kalamazoo County Prosecutor’s Office said they have authorized a charge of escape against 25-year-old Donnovan Terrel Lewis. He is expected to be arraigned in 8th District Court in Kalamazoo Thursday afternoon.
Authorities say Lewis escaped from the Kalamazoo County Jail around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday by scaling two 15-foot fences while he was in outdoors for recreation. He was captured about 30 minutes after he escaped.
