GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) – A second Fifth Third Bank in Grand Rapids was robbed on Monday, this time on the city’s West Side.
The second robbery happened at the Fifth Third Bank at 700 Bridge Street NW around 1:10 p.m., according to Grand Rapids police. They described the suspect as a man in his 30s, approximately 5 foot 8 inches tall with a slim build.
No one was injured in the robbery.
The 700 block of Bridge Street NW has been blocked as police investigate.
The first robbery happened around 9:15 a.m., about three miles away at the Fifth Third Bank at 1319 Michigan Street NE.
In that robbery, Police tweeted surveillance photos of the suspect, who they said was 35 to 55 years old and was wearing a tan hat, gray sweatshirt and light-colored pants.
While the suspect implied that he had a weapon, no weapons were seen, authorities said.
Police used a K9 unit to track the suspect, who left the bank on foot, but he is still at large.
Police are investigating if the robberies are connected.
