ALLENDALE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office is investigating after getting a report of a sexual assault near Grand Valley State University's Allendale campus Sunday morning.
A GVSU safety alert obtained by 24 Hour News 8 said it happened in a parking lot at Campus West Apartments, which are across 48th Avenue from campus, sometime between 3:30 a.m. and 4 a.m. The sheriff's department said it was called around 5:45 a.m.
The safety alert said two men assaulted the victim. The sheriff's office said a group of friends picked up the victim after she contacted them through a social media app, saying she was in trouble.
