Program gets kindergartners ready for school year

HOLLAND, Mich. (WOOD) — A kindergarten readiness program based in Ottawa County prepares kids for the school day before they officially start the school year.

The nonprofit Ready for School supports the Holland, Zeeland and Hamilton communities. Its program, Start School Ready, wrapped up its fifth year this month.

"It's a way of relationally supporting kids in the summer. To get them ready for school academically, socially and emotionally and to help parents feel confident about the rhythms of their day," Ready for School CEO Donna Lowry told 24 Hour News 8.
