Man charged in Grand Rapids double shooting

RAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A Grand Rapids man is in police custody in connection to a double shooting on the city’s southeast side.

Police say 20-year-old Brent Ohmill Brown Jr. is charged with two counts of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, felon in possession of a firearm and felony firearm for the April 13 shooting.

While investigating a shots fired call, officers heard multiple gunshots and discovered a wounded 24-year-old man in the 1100 block of Madison Avenue SE. He was taken to the hospital with critical injuries.

Officers later found a 27-year-old man who was also wounded. His injuries were not life-threatening, according to police.
