ORANGE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A woman is dead after a head-on crash in Ionia County Wednesday morning.
It happened around 9:48 a.m. on E. Grand River Avenue near Ionia Road in Orange Township, west of Portland.
The Ionia County Sheriff's Office says an eastbound car driven by a 22-year-old Lansing woman failed to follow a curve in the road and drove straight into the path of a westbound utility truck.
The woman died at the scene. The driver and passenger in the utility truck were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
The crash closed Grand River Avenue between Keefer Highway and Gregory Road as crews worked to investigate the crash and clean up the wreckage.
