IONIA, Mich. (WOOD) — If you're familiar with Ionia, you've probably seen Mitch Bell.
"There's Mitch again, giving his love," Brenda Grummet, who has known Bell for years, said. "That's what he does. He just waves to everybody."
For decades, the people of Ionia have watched Bell spreading joy, offering smiles and waves to passersby.
"I let people know they're an important part of each other's lives," he explained to 24 Hour News 8 Monday. "Because the Lord says we're all important to each other."
Serving others comes easy to Bell, a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
