KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities are responding to a freight-train derailment that is blocking several roads in Kalamazoo.
It happened shortly before 7 a.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Porter and Willard streets.
The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety said around 15 cars are off the track, blocking several intersections near downtown. Drivers are advised to avoid the downtown area and seek an alternative route as crews work to get the train back on the tracks.
