The quest for the perfect selfie is atop many teenagers to do list (and adults too), but for one 19-year-old it reportedly led to an attempted suicide.
British teen Danny Bowman, 19, spent up to 10 hours per day taking photos of himself on his iPhone, as reported in a TIME.com article. Bowman dropped out of school and retreated to his home for six months because of his serious selfie addiction.
The teen allegedly came close to overdosing on pills, but his mother intervened.
Bowman is quoted as saying, "I was constantly in search of taking the perfect selfie and when I realized I couldn't I wanted to die."
Some psychiatrists are even starting to consider selfie addiction a serious mental health issue.
