Over 800 Grand Rapids Public Schools students are taking part in a program known as Canoemobile to learn about the Grand River as they paddle canoes down it.
Students are learning about the history and quality of the Grand River, its cultural history and nature hiking in a hands-on way, participating in a variety of outdoor activities throughout this week, wrapping up on Friday.
The week will culminate in a free Family Paddle Night, scheduled for 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday. at Riverside Park.
