Mosquito Population Boom Expected After Mild Winter in Michigan

Warmer temperatures during the winter months could spell bad news when it comes to mosquitoes this season.

Milder temperatures mean more mosquitoes were able to survive during the winter, and spring rains will only amplify those numbers.

Because of this, the health department is reminding people to wear mosquito repellant with DEET and long clothing, especially around dawn or dusk, as mosquitoes are most active during these times.
