Radiologist shortage delaying test results in West MI

A radiologist shortage is causing longer wait times and delays for results in West Michigan.

The shortage is nationwide and does not appear to be clearing up.

As of Wednesday evening, there were over 1,800 open positions on the American College of Radiology's website.

Corewell Health says they are experiencing delays for outpatient imaging exams and are trying to process exams quickly while maintaining a high quality of care for patients.

Some results are taking up to 45 days.
