Hearing for man accused of killing Ruby Garcia to be delayed

The hearing for a man accused of killing Ruby Garcia will be delayed for at least a month.

Grand Rapids District Judge Angela T. Ross is agreeing to delayed a preliminary hearing for Brandon Ortiz-Vite at least a month so his attorney has time to review evidence in the case.

Court documents show Ortiz-Vite confessed to using a handgun to kill Garcia on March 22.

He then left her body along US-131 in Grand Rapids.
