A Norton Shores woman is taking a plea deal after facing charges for animal neglect.
Lisa Cober was arrested in January 2023 after police received a tip from a local animal shelter.
Cober was running an animal sanctuary at her home however many of the dogs were in poor health.
Officials seized 78 dogs from Cober;s home, including 25 sick dogs and eight additional puppies that had died at the home.
Muskegon County prosecutors recommended that in exchange for a guilty plea, Cober should be sentenced to house arrest or probation.
