GRPD arrests suspect in officer-involved shooting incident

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Grand Rapids Police Department is releasing body camera footage from a shooting this weekend that involved two officers.

The incident happened on Saturday evening on South Division Avenue near Crofton Street.

Officers conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle with no license plate and a passenger got out of the car and ran from officers.

Two officers began a foot pursuit until the suspect pulled a gun and fired at the officers.

The officers returned fire.

No one was injured during the incident.

The suspect is not in police custody and officials are asking anyone with information to contact police or Silent Observer.

The officers have been placed on administrative leave, which is standard protocol.

Michigan State Police has taken over the investigation.
