GRPS to build new school on northeast side

Grand Rapids Public Schools will build a new elementary school in the northeast part of town.

The school will replace the current Aberdeen Academy and Palmer Academy elementary schools and will open in the fall of 2027.

The building will be funded by a bond that was passed in November.

The district will hold two feedback sessions about the new proposal.

One session will be held on February 21 at Palmer Elementary at 3:45 p.m. while the other will be held at Aberdeen Academy on February 27 at 6:30 p.m.
