GR Subway owner failing to comply with U.S. Dept. of Labor investigation

A federal judge is holding a Grand Rapids Subway owner in contempt after they failed to comply with an investigation by the U.S. Department of Labor.

The Wage and Hour Division of the department launched an investigation into the business in July 2022 to determine if it was complying with the Fair Labor Standards Act.

The Department of Labor says Superior Ventures Unlimited, operating as Subway, would not provide records for pay and time cards.

The court is ordering Superior Ventures Unlimited to turn over the records or face a $250 fine for every day they fail to do so.
