GRAND RAPIDS (WOOD-AM) - The Department of Justice says a 41-year-old Lansing man has been given a 15-year federal prison sentence for illegally possessing a gun used in a murder in Muskegon in October 2021.

Ricky Meeks was found with the gun after leading police on a high-speed chase last year that ended with a crash.

Federal prosecutors gave that evidence during his domestic assault sentencing last year that the weapon was used to kill Earnest Hardy.
