Grand Rapids Public Schools bond proposal on ballot next week

Grand Rapids Public Schools is asking voters to support a bond proposal.

The $305 million bond proposal would not raise taxes and would put funding toward renovations, building construction, technology, playgrounds and security.

Grand Rapids Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Leadriane Roby says they held public forums and town halls over the last year and a half and the community mentioned building upgrades frequently.

The proposal would extend the current 3.85 millage rate.
