GRAND RAPIDS (WOOD-AM) - Police say a gunfight in Grand Rapids this morning has left a man dead and another person with critical injuries.
Police Chief Eric Winstrom tells WOOD-TV that officers responded to the scene after hearing gunfire near Division Avenue and Fair Street around 2 a.m.
Winstrom says one of his officers returned fire, but did not hit anyone. Troopers with the Michigan State Police been called in to investigate the officer-involved shooting, which is standard procedure.
Division has been closed between Stevens and Cottage Grove.
