UAW to announce plans Friday to expand strike

The United Auto Workers union is planning to add more workers to the picket line if Detroit Three automakers do not make progress on negotiations by Friday.

The unprecedented strike is in its 13th day and new strike targets will be announced at 10 a.m. Friday with walkouts beginning at noon that day.

Roughly 18-thousand-300 workers are on strike currently with Ford, General Motors and Stellantis.

Ford was spared from strike escalation last week as the UAW says they were making progress on negotiations.
