Prosecutor says deputy justified in shooting death of man

The Ottawa County prosecutor says a sheriff's deputy was justified when he shot and killed a man in June.

Prosecutor Lee Fisher says all witnesses agree that 28-year-old Mackenzie DeBarr pointed a gun at deputies and police before he was shot and killed.

Fisher says DeBarr's actions caused an immediate threat of serious injury or death to officers.

The prosecutor says the sheriff's deputy did not use excessive force but acted appropriately given the circumstances.
