The family of Wynter Cole Smith is inviting the public to a vigil on Friday evening.
The vigil will be held at First Church of the Redeemed in Detroit starting at 6 p.m.
The body of the two-year-old was found Wednesday evening in an alley in Detroit after an Amber Alert was issued for the toddler early Monday morning.
The family released a statement saying they are heartbroken over the loss of Wynter and are thankful for the work done by the FBI, law enforcement and volunteers.
