Seven tubers rescued from Muskegon River in Newaygo County

NEWAYGO (WOOD-AM) - Sheriff's deputies and firefighters in Newaygo County say seven people were rescued from the Muskegon River late Saturday.

The group got stuck on a tree while tubing under a train bridge, authorities said.

Eleven people were in the group. Six of them went to the hospital with minor or moderate injuries.

The river was said to be running high after recent rainfall.
