BBB: use caution when making donations

The Better Business Bureau is warning individuals to make sure you know who or what you are donating to, especially in the wake of the mass shooting at Michigan State University.

The BBB says scammers try to take advantage of vulnerable moments to deceive people offering relief.

The organization recommends checking Give.org to see a record of national charities that meet their standards.

Individuals should also watch for vague descriptions that don't clearly identify where funds will go.
