Finally, Market Avenue in downtown GR opens

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - After several months of closure and construction, Market Avenue in downtown Grand Rapids has reopened between Fulton and Oakes streets.

The Fulton Street bridge also reopened earlier this week, after a $20 million project to lay new sewer lines and repave the roads began this past March.

Additional work pushed the original end date of August to November. The city says the project will help pave the way for new developments like the proposed outdoor amphitheater along Market
