GRAND RAPIDS (WOOD-AM) - Forecasters are expecting potentially dangerous winter weather today.

The National Weather Service has posted a winter storm warning for Mason, Lake, Oceana, Newaygo, Muskegon, Ottawa, Kent and Allegan counties. It's scheduled to expire tomorrow morning.

Some areas could get up to eight inches of snow. A "bullseye" area west of Big Rapids could get over eight inches of snow, WOOD-TV meteorologist Ellen Bacca said.

The storm is also expected to bring gusty winds. Consumers Energy says it's expecting to see power outages, especially along the lakeshore.
