South Haven Can Now Close Beach, Pier During Bad Weather

SOUTH HAVEN (WOOD-AM) - City councilors in South Haven have voted to give the city the option to close its beach and pier during dangerous weather.

It follows a committee recommendation. That same committee recommended the installation of a new gate at the pier two years ago.

Violators could be fined up to $1,000, though some outdoor recreationalists, including kite-boarders, will be exempt.
