Woman injured after gunfire with Battle Creek police

A woman is injured after she exchanged gunfire with two Battle Creek Police officers on Wednesday.

Officials say they were sent to the area of College Street and West Emmett Street to help with a court ordered mental health pick-up.

When officers arrived, the 40-year-old woman began shooting at officers from insider her vehicle.

Officers fired back until she drove away.

The woman was found and taken into custody where she is being treated for a non life-threatening gunshot wound to the shoulder.
