1 The Democrats $1.4 trillion dollar COVID-19 relief plan will go before a house budget committee.

The biggest obstacle to its passage is the inclusion of a $15 minimum wage championed by progressive Democrats.

If all goes as planned the bill could be passed by mid-March, which would send $1,400 checks to most Americans. It also extends federal unemployment benefits.

3 About a third of Texans are still having issues with their water supply as the state reels from last week’s deadly winter storms and subsequent utility outages. President Biden FINALLY approved a major disaster declaration for Texas, unlocking more federal resources.

Meanwhile, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer signed an Executive order in Michigan aimed at making sure the propane supply chain stays up and running over the coming days. She's under fire from Republicans in the Legislature who say she had a hand in creating the energy crisis by shutting down Line 5.
