The Old Kent Bank building in downtown Grand Rapids is undergoing construction.
The building is expecting to include a new affordable market concept by Dollar General.
The city permit records show a permit for DGX Grand Rapids in the lobby of the building.
Dollar General says they are interested in opening the first DGX store in Michigan at the location and will make a final decision in the coming weeks.
The store generally carries fresh fruits and vegetables, health and beauty products, refrigerated foods, cleaning supplies, pet food and more.
