GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Michigan's farming industry supports more than 800,000 jobs in the state, according to theDepartment of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Thanks to the state's new Small Farm Safety Grant Program, small farms can get financial help preparing for what’s ahead.
The new safety grant program will have $1.25 million available to farms in the state, and is made possible through the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.
The grants are only available to farms with 10 or fewer employees.
