As Lake Michigan water levels rise, South Haven installs flooding barriers

SOUTH HAVEN, Mich. (WOOD) — The city of South Haven is installing flood barriers near two water treatment facilities in to protect from rising Lake Michigan levels.

In a news release issued by the city of South Haven government, they explained the barriers will be installed at the wastewater treatment plant located near the intersection of Wells Street and Dunkley Avenue and on South Beach near the water filtration plant.

City officials say the barriers will remain in place until water levels on Lake Michigan recede, according to the news release.
