MI health department launches free condom delivery plan due to COVID-19

State residents looking for condoms now have a new source thanks to the state of Michigan.

Michigan department of health and human services announce this week the launch of a free condom delivery service

The program assures that residents can still get the protection they need — even during the state's stay home stay safe order and while social-distancing measures continue.

An all new condoms-by-mail service was started by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) as a means to prevent unintended pregnancies and the spread of sexually-transmitted diseases in communities across the state.

Officials with MDHHS say the idea was generated after local health agencies were forced to stop handing out free condoms at government buildings, bars, and other establishments that are now closed due to the coronavirus epidemic.
