3 teens arrested after Woodland Mall burglary

RAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Police arrested three suspects and continue to search for more in connection to a burglary at the Woodland Mall.

Authorities were notified around 4:20 a.m. Friday of an alarm trip by the north side of the Woodland Mall. The suspects were able to get inside the mall by smashing through a door.

Mall security told police they spotted multiple suspects carrying items into a van. Kentwood police began following the van onto westbound 28th Street, but lost it down a side street.

Officers were able to find three suspects, ages range from 14 to 16 years old, behind a house on Shangrai La Drive SE near Kalamazoo Avenue SE. They also found several items in the backyard, including phones, jewelry and clothes believed to be stolen from mall kiosks.
