2 Former VP, Joe Biden, will hold his first campaign event today. Biden will hold a rally this afternoon in Pittsburgh to "lay out his vision for rebuilding America's middle class."

The gun jammed, miraculously in that California synagogue shooting Saturday. 

That along with the training that they had gone through allowed congregants to evacuate. 

Rabbi Goldstein of Chabad spoke yesterday, a day after an attack at the Poway, CA Synagogue left one woman dead and three others injured - including the Rabbi himself. 

He says the gunman fled after the weapon used in the attack jammed. A 19-year-old arrested afterward is expected to be arraigned this week on charges including murder and attempted murder.

Japan's 85-year-old Emperor Akihito stands down from the throne tomorrow for reasons of age and health. It makes him the first Japanese monarch to abdicate his post in over 200 years (since Emperor Kokaku in 1817). Akihito will be succeeded by his eldest son, Crown Prince Naruhito, who will become the 126th emperor to ascend to the Chrysanthemum Throne.

-The Detroit Tigers struck out 20 times last night in a loss to the White Sox, tying a MLB record for strikeouts in a 9 inning game.
