SB US-131 in Grand Rapids reopens after lumber spill

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Southbound US-131 in Grand Rapids is back open, hours after a flatbed truck spilled its load of lumber onto the roadway.

The incident happened shortly before 7:45 a.m. Thursday on the highway north of Ann Street.

The Michigan Department of Transportation said the right two lanes were blocked as crews worked to clear the lumber strewn across the freeway.
