Mother arrested after leaving 2 girls at Mason Co. Walmart

PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Deputies say a woman was arrested on drug-related charges after leaving two young girls at a Mason County Walmart.

The Mason County Sheriff’s Office said authorities were called shortly before 7 a.m. Saturday for a “suspicious situation” at the Walmart in the 4800 block of W. US-10 in Pere Marquette Township, near Ludington.

Deputies say employees found two 10-year-old girls who were taking part in a social media challenge called camping, where people post photos of themselves sleeping inside large stores.
