Child run over twice while trick-or-treating, hospitalized

GRAND HAVEN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A child was hospitalized Wednesday after being being run over twice by his family's minivan while trick-or-treating south of Grand Haven.

It happened around 7:35 p.m. on Hofma Drive at Thornapple Drive in a subdivision in Grand Haven Township.

The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office said the child, a 3-year-old, was riding in his family's minivan, which was going about 3 mph. The 3-year-old and his 7-year-old brother were sitting on the floor of the back seat with their legs hanging out the open sliding door.
