Chickenpox leads to exclusion order at Holland school

HOLLAND, Mich. (WOOD) — Ottawa County health officials have ordered unvaccinated students of West Ottawa school to stay home for two weeks, after one child was diagnosed with chickenpox.

The Ottawa County Department of Public Health said it learned of the confirmed case Wednesday. It involved an unvaccinated student who attends Waukazoo Elementary School, located at 1294 W. Lakewood Boulevard in Holland.

Health officials say they notified parents of the order in a letter.
