GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A LIFE EMS paramedic was stabbed after stopping to assist a man spotted crawling toward a busy highway near Detroit.

The incident happened around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday along I-96 near Meadowbrook Road in Novi. LIFE EMS officials say the paramedic crew had just taken a patient from West Michigan to the Detroit area and was headed back toward Grand Rapids.
