Boy hit by Wayland delivery driver dies

WAYLAND, Mich. (WOOD) — The Wayland Police Department says a child was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Allegan County Friday.

It happened at 7:30 p.m. in the Windsor Woods Village manufactured home community in the city of Wayland, east of US-131.

Authorities say a female 17-year-old Jimmy Johns delivery driver hit a 5-year-old boy while he was riding his bicycle as he rode out of his family's drive way. 

EMS responded, however the child was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 17-year-old driver was not arrested.
