Motorcyclist killed in single-vehicle crash in Battle Creek

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) — A motorcyclist was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Battle Creek Thursday morning.

The  Battle Creek Police Department said the crash happened shortly before  10:30 a.m. Thursday on Main Street near the Kingman Avenue intersection.

Main  Street is closed between Kingman and Massachusetts avenues as police  investigate the crash. Drivers are advised to avoid the area and seek an  alternative route. 

The motorcyclist — a 56-year-old man — was killed. His name has not yet been released.

It's unclear what led to the crash, but police said no other vehicles or people were involved.

Police did not release any additional information regarding the deadly crash.
