GRAND HAVEN, Mich. (WOOD) — Grand Haven's redesigned Waterfront Stadium was dedicated Thursday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Lynne Sherwood Waterfront Stadium is named for the late philanthropist who funded $3 million of the $3.5 million renovation.
The old bleachers have been removed from the stadium, which now features an amphitheater with multilevel seating, green space and a center stage area that can be used for performances.
Last week, the people behind the redesign told 24 Hour News 8 they want families to be able to enjoy picnics, the musical fountain and events at the stadium.
