THE LATEST: Downtown Plainwell evacuated due to bank robbery

PLAINWELL, Mich. (WOOD) — Downtown Plainwell has been evacuated due  to a package that was left behind following a bank robbery Thursday. 

It happened shortly before 11 a.m. at the PNC Bank located at 131 N Main Street near the Bridge Street intersection.

The  Allegan County Sheriff’s Office told 24 Hour News 8 that a package was  left behind at the bank. It’s being treated as a possible explosive.

Authorities are currently searching for the suspect.
